Item of Interest: Arlington Draft House

The Arlington Draft house includes a movie theatre combined with a full restaurant. The drafthouse is over 22 years old. It replaced the old Arlington Theatre in 1985. The actual building is around 65 years old. Since it was originaly a theatre for plays it has a large hintory of live entertainment. The original theatre stage is still located behind the movie screen, including stage equipment, lights, and a green room. Now the theatre shows more mainstream films and no longer includes live shows in its offerings. It is currently owned by a local family who wants to preserve the historic traditions of "old Arlington" and the "Drafthouse". With the hopes of imroving customer experience they have recently added more space to the dining area and created a new lounge area inside. The Drafthouse is definitely a landmark in Arlington and continue to be widely used by residents.
